Rekha Sithuwam Dakma 2009
Line Drawing Exhibion 2009
will cordial open at the Deepaloka Viharaya, Ingiriya
at 10.00 am on 7th July 2009.
The exhibition will remain open
On 7th, 8th and 9th from 10.00am to 4.00pm.
The is an exhibit of the selected works that were done in the art workshop held at the
Madakada Aranya Senasanaya by 21 participating artists.
The exhibition is Sponsored by Sanjiv Mendis Memorial Foundation
and supported by theertha International Artists' Collective and ArtLab.

Sanjiv Mendis Memorial Foundation visits Megha
Mrs. M C V Mendis Mr. Rukshan Jayewardene and Mrs. Azira Esufally, trustees of The Sanjiv Mendis Memorial Foundation Visited Megha.
They came to Ingiriya early in the mornig to see the worshop in progress. After looking at artworks and discussions Mrs. Charmine Mendis presented the book "Beyond Life: Drawings & Paintings of Sanjiv Mendis, her son after whom The Sanjiv Mendis Sanjiv Mendis Memorial Foundation is named.
Day 1 of the workshop
The Day 1 of the workshop was held at Ingiriya, Vindya Kanchana Karunarathna's house now converted to a meeting and activity space.

from Theertha International Artists' Collective visited Megha on this day.
Jagath Weerasinghe gave a lecture on drawing. At the end of it after the tea break every body sat down to do blind contour drawings getting personal instruction and advise from Jagath.
At noon every body vent to the Madakada Aranya Senasanaya, (Madakada Monastry). They were expected to study the surface textures in nature. After lunch near the Madakada Oya, the work continued untill evening. The next five workshop days the 22 participating artists worked outdoors and indoors like this.

Drawing workshop at Ingiriya Beggings
Megha Art Organization, an active regional art organization in Sri Lanka has organized a drawing workshop at Ingiriya involiving children and young artists.
The inaugural ceremony of the workshop will be held at 10.00 am onwards on 26th Sunday, April 2009 at the regional art center of Megha Art Organization, Ingiriya. The workshop is sponsored by The Sanjiv Mendis Memorial Foundation and supported by the Theertha International Artists' Collective and ArtLab Organization.
